Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Health Information Specialist to support EMR accuracy and integrity. You will monitor the EMR for issues, verify and merge duplicate MRN records, and assist with patient amendment requests to ensure data quality and compliance.

The role involves maintaining Epic work queues, processing government audits and PHI requests, and ensuring all PHI handling conforms to UH policies and standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years Health Information Services/Medical Records experience.
• GED or high school diploma required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s in HIM preferred or in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, investigates and resolves EMR issues.
• Verifies and resolves duplicate MRN assignments.
• Assists with patient amendment requests.
• Maintains Epic work queues and in-basket pools.
• Processes government payer audits and PHI requests.
• Ensures PHI handling complies with policies.
