Job summary

JFCS Pittsburgh is seeking a full-time Success Coach Caseworker to assist diverse clients in overcoming barriers to economic mobility. The role emphasizes coaching, resource navigation, and collaborative goal-setting to support stability and growth.

Responsibilities include intake, creating service plans, referrals, and data-driven case management, with an emphasis on confidentiality and ethical standards. A vehicle and flexible hours are often required for fieldwork and client visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is a plus; strong English skills required.
• Ability to maintain accurate case notes and use data systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake sessions to assess client needs across domains (housing, food, childcare, transportation, income, healthcare, technology, and financial assets).
• Co-create individualized service plans with clients, including measurable action items owned by the client.
• Provide light-touch follow-up to review goal achievement and conduct intentional coaching conversations.
• Conduct warm referrals to community resources, financial coaching programs, workforce development services, and other supports identified with the client.
• Provide specific support, monitoring, and coordination for participants in the Catalyst for Economic Mobility.
• Maintain knowledge of local community resources related to housing, food, childcare, transportation, financial assistance, workforce development, and healthcare.
• Verify eligibility requirements, waitlist status, and geographic availability before referrals.
• Develop relationships with community partners to facilitate warm connections.
• Assist clients with navigating applications and systems where barriers exist.
• Follow up on all provided support.
• Actively participate in training to develop coaching skills (e.g., motivational interviewing).
• Develop and present workshop materials for client cohorts.
• Maintain timely and accurate case notes in the program’s case management system.
• Document service plans, actions, referrals, and progress according to standards.
• Complete required data entry for outcomes tracking and funder reporting.
• Participate in supervision, team meetings, and professional development.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and reporting laws.
