Job summary

Evergreen Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator for Hearthwood Elementary School in Vancouver, Washington. The position supports instructional activities for students with special needs, under the supervision of the Special Education instructor and building principal.

Hours: 6.33 hours/day with variations for early-release and full Wednesdays; 190 days/year. Starting date: Immediately. Salary steps per PSE Large Group schedule; benefits include SEBB and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen (18) years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Must meet one or more of the following: (a) ETS ParaPro score 455+; (b) Associate degree or higher; (c) 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher; (d) Completed Paraeducator Apprenticeship Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision of instructional activities for students with IEP goals.
• Provide one-to-one and small group instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Maintain data on student progress and assist in collecting performance data.
• Help administer and score tests and implement behavioral management strategies as outlined by the teacher.
