Job summary

The Richardson School in Appleton, WI is seeking an Instructional Aide to support students with special needs in education, therapeutic/behavioral support, and daily activities. You will collaborate with teachers to implement IEPs and ensure students participate in active learning sessions.

Responsibilities include data entry, applying approved behavioral strategies, and assisting staff in the classroom. A High School Diploma is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Experience with special needs students preferred.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining self-control.

Responsibilities

• Meets with classroom teacher and/or supervisor to discuss daily activities, academics, behavioral support, and medical concerns.
• Completes paperwork and data entry for instructional and behavior data as scheduled.
• Uses approved treatment techniques under training to supervise and educate students.
• Familiar with behavior management and education techniques used at the school.
• Engages students in active learning and supports staff in the classroom.
