Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• At least one year of experience working with special needs students preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining self-control.
• Effective working alone and as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Meets with classroom teacher and/or supervisor to discuss daily activities and concerns.
• Completes and submits paperwork and data related to students as scheduled.
• Uses approved treatment techniques in supervising and educating students.
• Familiar with behavior management and education techniques used at TRS.
• Acts as a role model for students, staff, and community.
• Implements students’ academic program using IEP resources under direction.
• Engages students in active learning as directed by the teacher.
• Provides support for staff within the classroom setting and follows Education Department policies.
