Job summary

Adjoin Catalysts in California seeks a Direct Support Professional to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily activities, skill-building, and community participation. You will assist with meals, grooming, transportation and advocacy under supervision.

This role requires a valid CA driver’s license, insured vehicle, mobility, and a high school diploma. Pre-employment screening and background checks apply. Training and ongoing support provided.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong interpersonal skills.
• Certification in First-Aid and CPR, or completion within 45 days of hire.
• Insured vehicle and CA driver’s license.
• Employee must have a mobile smart device for essential tasks.
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
• Physical evaluations may be required.
• Ability to transport clients to appointments and activities.

Responsibilities

• Advance client’s decision-making, productivity and participation in daily activities.
• Promote independence while supporting clients’ needs.
• Implement individual training and support programs under supervision.
• Maintain positive communications with supervisor, clients, landlords, employers and families.
• Participate in evaluation of the client through task analysis and assessments.
• Document activity records, incidents and evaluations accurately.
• Provide advocacy when client preferences or needs are overlooked.
• Address challenging behaviors using established plans and training.
• Oversee client activities and transport to appointments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
