Job summary

A S & P Corporation in Union City, CA is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide personalized care to individuals with developmental disabilities. You will support daily living activities, implement ISPs, and help clients build independence in the community.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid California driver’s license, and the ability to pass background checks; CPR/First Aid is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a background check and health screening.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Prior DSP, caregiver, or human services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
• Assist clients with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately.
• Transport and accompany clients to appointments, community outings, and activities.
• Encourage skill-building, independence, and community integration.
• Administer medications and follow health and safety protocols as required.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members.
