Job summary

Adjoin Catalysts is seeking a dedicated Specialized Direct Support Professional (SDSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily living activities and community involvement. You will implement behavior plans, monitor safety, and assist with transportation as needed.

The role requires crisis experience, confidentiality, strong interpersonal skills, and a flexible schedule with early hours across a 75% travel expectation within the service counties.

Qualifications

• Confidentiality and discretion in handling client information.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for teamwork and client interaction.
• Experience working with individuals in crisis is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain relevant certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Advance client’s decision-making, productivity and participation in daily activities.
• Implement behavior management plans and support programs.
• Maintain positive communications with supervisors, clients, and community partners.
• Participate in client evaluations and assessments.
• Provide crisis intervention and resources during emergencies.
• Assess clients in crisis and follow mandated reporting requirements.
• Communicate effectively with team to improve program efficiency.
• Document activity records, reports and evaluations accurately.
• Advocate for clients when needs are overlooked.
• Address challenging behaviors using plan-based methods.
• Oversee client activities and ensure health and safety.
• Provide transportation services through TRIPS as needed.
