Job summary

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, 1 year of relevant experience, and be willing to obtain AMAP, First Aid/CPR, and SCIPR certifications as required during probation and ongoing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year experience working with developmentally disabled population preferred in residential, health, or treatment settings.
• AMAP certification required during probation and must be maintained.
• Willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
• Willingness to obtain SCIPR competencies and advance to promotion.

Responsibilities

• Counsel, assist and train individuals with developmental disabilities in personal care, travel, social, home and life skills.
• Provide direct care and support to maximize functioning in the community.
• Document records and activities in accordance with program standards.
• Support safety and positive environments during community activities.
• Assist individuals in learning home living skills and daily routines.
• Advocate for individuals and respect processes and people involved.
