Job summary

Birch Family Services in Queens, NY is seeking a Direct Support Professional to counsel, assist and train individuals with developmental disabilities in personal care, social and life skills in order to maximize their functioning in the community.

This full-time role requires a High School diploma, offers flexible shifts, and provides opportunities to obtain AMAP certification, CPR/First Aid training, and to advance in SCIPR competencies while maintaining thorough documentation and safety

Qualifications

• AMAP during probation and maintain AMAP certification.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain.
• Willingness to obtain SCIPR competencies and advance to Promote.
• Valid NYS driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in developing personal and life skills.
• Provide safe, clean environments and monitor health needs.
• Document services and progress according to program standards.
• Assist with daily living activities and personal care as needed.
