Job summary

Birch Family Services is seeking staff to counsel, assist and train individuals with developmental disabilities in personal care, travel, social, home management, and life skills to maximize functioning in the community.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, at least 1 year of related experience, and a valid NYS Driver’s License. AMAP certification during probation is mandatory, with First Aid/CPR preferred to ensure client safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience with developmentally disabled population preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
• AMAP certification during probationary period and maintain AMAP certification.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Counsel, assist and train individuals in personal care, travel, social, home management and life skills.
• Support daily living activities to maximize community functioning.
• Document records in accordance with program standards.
• Ensure safe, clean environments and monitor health and safety needs.
• Collaborate with team to promote individual growth and inclusion.
