Job summary

Friendship Community Care seeks a Direct Support Professional to join an interdisciplinary team delivering high-quality services in home and community settings in Arkansas.

You will assist clients with daily living tasks, provide transportation, maintain logs and forms, and help with plans of care and medication monitoring, while ensuring confidentiality and safety. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED, or at least two years of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Language skills: Ability to read, comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to present information to clients and staff.
• Mathematical/Computer skills: Basic math and ability to interpret simple charts/logs.
• Reasoning: Follow written or oral instructions and schedules; physically capable of the required tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assists clients in basic living skills and daily personal tasks.
• Provides transportation to activities and appointments with a valid Arkansas driver’s license.
• Maintains communication and documentation via logs, meetings, and required forms.
• Follows medication-management guidelines and assists in monitoring/documentation.
• Organizes and carries out recreational activities; adheres to dress code and maintains confidentiality.
