Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
• No professional work experience required.
• Title I assignments may require: 2 years of college, or an associate degree, or demonstrated knowledge in reading/writing/mathematics.
• Basic knowledge of typical office equipment (phones, copiers, fax, email).
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Intermediate English language skills.
• Intermediate oral and written communication skills.
• Advanced interpersonal relations skills.
• Advanced organizational skills.
• Ability to work alone and with others.
• Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher by preparing materials, administering tests, grading and attendance.
• Support students with classroom activities in groups or individually.
• Monitor students and reinforce appropriate behavior in various settings.
• Perform basic clerical tasks for the classroom teacher and manage supplies.
• Assist with field trips or drills and other events as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
