Jobot, a Chicago-based law firm focused on representing employers, seeks an attorney with a strong employment litigation background. You will defend discrimination, wage-hour, and trade secret claims in state and federal court, handling motions, discovery, depositions and summary judgment while owning assigned cases within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Admission to Illinois state bar and U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
• 3+ years of employment litigation experience.
• Defending discrimination claims under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, IHRA, IWA and similar claims.
• Defending wage-hour and class actions under FLSA, IMWL, IWPCA, and BIPA.
• Defending/prosecuting trade secret, confidentiality, non-compete, and non-solicitation matters.
• Experience with motions, written discovery, depositions, and summary judgment.

Responsibilities

Job Details

Salary: $160,000 - $245,000 per year

Required

• Admission to the Illinois state bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.


• 3+ years of employment litigation experience, including:


• Defending against discrimination claims under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, IHRA, IWA, and similar common law claims.


• Defending against wage and hour and other class action claims under the FLSA, IMWL, IWPCA, and BIPA.


• Defending and/or prosecuting trade secret violations and breaches of confidentiality, non-compete, and non-solicitation agreements.


• Experience with motion practice, written discovery, depositions, and summary judgment in state and federal court.


• Desire to take ownership of assigned cases while working collaboratively with other attorneys.

Preferred

• Admission to the Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.


• Trial experience (first or second chair) and/or experience presenting witnesses at trials, hearings, arbitrations, or similar proceedings in employment law matters.


• Appellate experience in employment law cases, including briefing and/or oral argument.

Helpful but not required
