JOB TITLE

Employment & Staffing Partner

JOB PURPOSE

Execute the staffing and on-boarding process in collaboration withthe hiring department. Ensure compliance with Federal, State, andUniversity policies as it pertains to staffing andemployment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with the hiring department to support staffing andemployment with the hiring department. Provide help and guidanceregarding labor needs, interviewing techniques, and advertisingwhile adhering to all established policies and procedures.
  • Review and approve department interview and hiring selectioncriteria and non-selection rationale to insure it is job-related,defensible, and complies with Federal, State, and UW regulations,policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate background check program for departments on newemployees and oversee compliance with legal guidelines concerningauthorization, retention and access to reports, etc.
  • Create a constructive onboarding experience by coordinating andguiding new employees and departments. Provide primary support tonew hires concerning HR issues.
  • Check employment applications and examines work history,education and training, job skills, compensation needs, and otherqualifications of applicants.
  • Record additional knowledge, skills, abilities, interests, testresults, and other data pertinent to selection and referral ofapplicants.
  • Review job orders and match applicants with job requirements,utilizing manual or computerized file search.
  • Assist supervisor with special projects, proposed policies,procedures and guidelines, as directed.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Backup front desk reception and I-9 intake.
  • Assist with developing and conducting associated trainingworkshops.
  • May represent manager in his/her absence, as directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience: 1 year experience providing high-level customerservice

Experience Evaluation

Minimum experience requirements are evaluated on a full-timeequivalent (FTE) basis. Relevant part-time experience will beprorated based on hours worked. For example, two years working anaverage of 20 hours per week is equivalent to approximately oneyear of full-time experience.

Applicants must include the average hours worked per week for allcurrent and previous positions. Failure to provide this informationmay affect the evaluation of qualifications.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Some Human Resources or related hiring experience ispreferred
  • Knowledge or experience with recruiting, hiring practices andapplicable federal and state employment laws (FLSA, ADA, CivilRights Act of 1964, FMLA, DOL and EEO) is preferred, however, weare willing to train the right candidate.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills andexperience
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel andTeams) with the ability to learn additional programs as needed -such as an electronic Recruiting Management or Applicant Trackingsystem.
  • Strong technical/troubleshooting skills and ability to applycritical thinking skills to help solve problems and/or findalternative solutions.
  • Training experience and/or the ability to give presentations toa wide variety of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member andfoster a cooperative work environment.
  • Strong initiative, motivation, organizational skills and apositive demeanor in a professional environment and an ability towork with minimal supervision, set priorities and followthrough.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple taskssimultaneously.
