Job summary

LJA Accounting is seeking a Project Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day activities for project managers in the utilities sector. You will handle project setup, invoicing, backup documentation, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Project Managers, A/R, and the collections group, with opportunities for growth in a client-focused, employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a billing position.
• Intermediate level experience using Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with ERP project-based accounting systems Deltek, Clearview/InFocus, or BST Global is a plus.
• Experience with invoice submittal via client portals is a plus.
• Experience in the Engineering or Construction industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain projects in the accounting system.
• Invoice clients on a weekly/monthly basis with various billing methods.
• Prepare detailed backup documentation for invoices.
• Provide project, billing, A/R and other reports as needed.
• Assist Project Managers and Collections with resolving outstanding AR issues.
• Analyze revenue and job cost and monitor subcontractor invoices and payments.
