Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) seeks motivated Construction Inspectors to join our team on bridge, road, canal, and utility projects across Ohio. Ideal candidates have a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and can collaborate on concurrent projects.

Responsibilities include daily field inspections, measuring quantities for payments, reading plans, and ensuring compliance with standards. Requirements: high school diploma or GED, ODOT certifications, and proficiency with Field Manager/Field

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required
5 years field experience in bridge/road/utility inspection preferred
All applicable ODOT certifications
Experience with ODOT documentation and Field Manager/Field Book
Knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and ODOT standards

Responsibilities

Perform daily field inspections of heavy highway and bridge projects
Measure, compute, and record contract quantities for payments
Read and interpret project plans, specs, and standards
Perform and/or observe material sampling and testing per project standards
Ensure contractor’s work/materials meet standards and specifications
Document daily project progress and conformance/nonconformance with plans/specifications
Enter data into SiteManager and ProjectWise
Identify and communicate project issues to project managers
Identify and communicate unsafe conditions to the contractor
