Job summary

Kapnick Insurance in Adrian, MI, seeks an Account Manager in our Employee Benefits Division. You will be the primary day‑to‑day service contact for small business clients, handling administrative tasks, renewals, and enrollment materials.

The role requires 1–2 years of benefits experience, 2–3 years of customer service, and strong communication skills. A degree is preferred; candidates should be detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of Employee Group Benefit experience: Preferred
• 2-3 years customer service experience
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Organization skills
• Like to solve problems
• Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Responsibilities

• Promptly identify and resolve client issues (administrative, billing, claims) in a timely manner
• Maintain client account information in the agency management system
• Consult with Client Executive or Account Executive regularly
• Review and prepare renewal proposals for clients
• Coordinate renewal materials and enrollment packets for clients
• Oversee submission of group applications to carriers and assist with implementation
• Act as liaison to other service departments within benefits division
• Monitor voicemail and emails and maintain activity in line with service standards
• Attend department and team meetings and trainings
• Facilitate plan document creation or amendments
• Document renewal decisions, plans and final rates in the system
