Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate in Dalton, GA to support the Store Manager with staffing, inventory, and overall store operations. This role helps develop internal talent for the Store Manager position.

You will assist with merchandising, customer service leadership, open/close duties, paperwork, and cash control while maintaining store safety and cleanliness. This is a development-focused role with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by facilitating staging, stocking and pricing.
• Assist in inventory management and store controls; conduct inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies per handbook and SOPs.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of company funds and cash control procedures.
• Assist in maintaining clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines.
