Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager with staffing, inventory, merchandising, and customer service leadership at a Georgia location. This role supports development for the Store Manager track and is limited in duration.

Responsibilities include recruitment support, inventory control, open/close duties, and ensuring cash handling and store security practices are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Certain store locations may give preference to bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise according to store manager direction.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposits of company funds and cashier accountability.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and safe environment.
• Operate store in the store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork according to guidelines and deadlines.
