Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory management, stocking and receiving, and store needs. The role focuses on developing external candidates for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

Responsibilities include assisting with recruitment, merchandising, inventory control, and maintaining a safe, well-run store. You will help drive customer service excellence and ensure compliance with company policies

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to recruit, interview, hire and train staff in line with policies and legal requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking to standard practice.
• Help with inventory management, damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and act as a role model.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure cash control, deposits, and security procedures are followed.
• Maintain clean, safe, well-stocked stores and assist in store operations during absence of manager.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
