Job summary

Walmart Emerging Store Manager (ESM) program prepares associates for Store Manager opportunities within Walmart US store operations. The developmental assignment lasts 12 to 18 months and includes training across merchandising, people leadership, financial management, customer experience, and community engagement.

Associates are expected to remain mobile within their region for Store Manager placement and to perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, retail management, or financial management plus 2 years' management experience.
• 4+ years' management experience with financial accountability.
• Experience supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading store management by supporting objectives and communicating goals.
• Monitor sales, budgets, and financial performance against plans.
• Develop staffing plans and talent pipelines for Store Manager placement.
• Engage with the community and key stakeholders to support programs and sustainability.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and asset protection standards.
