Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory, merchandising, and store needs; this role is a developmental position for external candidates and limited in duration.

You will engage in recruiting, stock management, cash handling, and customer service leadership, ensuring in-stock targets and adherence to policies while maintaining a safe, well-organized store environment.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to read and interpret documents and safety rules.
• Basic math operations including percentages and calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in staffing and recruitment activities.
• Assist with stock merchandising and pricing per store policy.
• Support inventory management, damages, and order accuracy.
• Help maintain in-stock targets and storefront presentation.
• Provide customer service leadership and model company procedures.
• Participate in opening/closing and cash handling controls.
• Review operating statements for trends and controls.
