Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory, and service. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position and is limited in duration.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory, order fulfillment, and cashier controls while upholding company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking, ensuring display and pricing accuracy.
• Assist in inventory management and associated paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and store guidance.
• Adhere to company procedures and policies; participate in opening/closing.
• Ensure cash handling, deposits, and security practices are followed.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and safe work environment.
• Operate the store in the store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities; manage expenses and inventory.
