Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in operating store processes, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and daily administration. This temporary role focuses on developing external candidates for the Store Manager path and will run for a limited period.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Experience with inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking according to established practices and manager direction.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and proper handling of damages and markdowns.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure cash handling accuracy and store security practices.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment for customers and employees.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation within deadlines.
