Job summary

MEA Energy seeks an Associate Operations Manager in California to assist the Sr Operations Manager in cost-effective operation, maintenance, and long-term preservation of property assets. The role supports safety, contracted services oversight, and project management while preparing to advance to a Property/Operations leadership position.

The position involves coordinating with multiple corporate departments and overseeing capital plans, with on-site duties split between Northridge Fashion

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years in property, facilities, or construction management; shopping center experience a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Good working knowledge of building systems, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Effective writing and communication to supervise, train, and direct teams.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Teams, JDEdwards, and Yardi.
• OHSA 30-hour course preferred.
• Industry certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain property assets to satisfy standards cost-effectively.
• Oversee contracted services and ensure lease compliance.
• Develop multi-year operating and capital plans with Sr Operations Manager.
• Coordinate construction and tenant coordination with as-built conditions.
• Ensure safety systems are code compliant and reports are kept.
• Support sustainability initiatives to reduce carbon footprint.
• Monitor utility consumption and costs via BAS/Building controls.
• Assist in staff development and supervise teams.
• Split time between Northridge Fashion Center and Glendale Galleria.
• Review invoices and monitor timely payments.
• Participate in MOD schedule and be on-site as required.
