Job summary

M. A. Mortenson Company is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager I to provide leadership for large projects and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with a focus on safety and quality.

You will mentor the project team and maintain strong owner relationships, communicating across levels and adapting to changing needs. Responsibilities include supervising project financial health, managing subcontracts and invoices, and leading the project team to meet schedule and risk objectives while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum eight years of construction/project management experience.
• Ability to manage multiple large complex projects.
• Strong communication and openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Understanding of construction law and business practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise overall financial health of projects.
• Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections.
• Allocate project estimates into the financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices.
• Provide financials and billings to Accounting, create monthly owner billings.
• Handle subcontracts and suppliers, manage budget and selections.
• Lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, provide job assignments and training.
• Function as main point of contact with owner and on-site representative.
• Resolve site concerns, handle change orders, and obtain necessary approvals.
• Maintain schedule and budget, manage quality, risk, safety, and compliance.
