Job summary

VEG ER for Pets in Florida is seeking a part-time Emergency Veterinary Assistant to support the team from day one. You will assist with triage, treatments, and client communication while learning the ropes in a fast-paced ER environment. Training paths lead toward credentialed technician roles and advanced procedures.

You'll work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, in a busy hospital setting dedicated to compassionate care for pets and their families.

Qualifications

• Empathetic, people-centric care for patients and clients.
• Strong communication with pet parents and team.
• Able to stand for long hours and lift up to 25 kg (assistance up to 40 kg).
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome; triage incoming patients and guide them toward care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics from bloodwork to imaging and oxygen support.
• Support anesthesia and sedation setups with credentialed staff.
• Set up and manage IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration.
• Participate in care from exam room to treatment area and during rounds.
• Learn CPR and RECOVER Certified Rescuer training (provided).
• Grow into advanced roles such as anesthesia support and ultrasound.
