Job summary

VEG ER for Pets is seeking a per diem Emergency Veterinary Assistant in Jacksonville to join our fast-paced ER team. You will triage, comfort pet parents, assist with treatments, and work alongside credentialed technicians and veterinarians.

Growth through guided training pathways and a supportive, energetic environment awaits you, with opportunities to expand into anesthesia support and other specialties as you progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years as veterinary assistant; emergency or specialty experience a bonus.
• Excellent communicator with pet parents and team.
• Able to lift up to 25 kg and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet and triage patients; guide them toward care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Support anesthesia setup and monitoring with clinicians.
• Manage IV fluids, transfusions, and medication administration.
• Participate in patient rounds and care continuity.
