Job summary

VEG for Pets in Florida is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line team delivering gold-standard, compassionate care during emergencies. You will participate in triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, supporting pet parents in stressful moments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the practice state required; VTS in ECC/IM/anesthesia a plus.
• 1+ year of experience as a veterinary technician; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software and EMR.
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; able to lift up to 25 kg and stand for long hours.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients and their people through tests, treatments, and care coordination.
• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Assist with IVs, monitoring, anesthesia, and critical care nursing.
• Collaborate with doctors to shape plans and ensure smooth care flow.
• Perform CPR when required and support emergent procedures.
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement.
• Support anesthesia for fragile patients and use advanced tools as needed.
