Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a dedicated veterinary nursing professional to join our emergency team. You will provide high‑quality nursing care, monitor patients, and support physicians in fast-paced shifts at our Cary, NC locations.

You’ll triage, administer medications, assist with anesthesia, and participate in rounds to ensure continuity of care. A licensed LVt and a passion for animal care are essential, with generous benefits and ongoing CE opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse colleagues and clients.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency setting and stay calm under pressure.
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and adapt to evolving procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care and patient monitoring.
• Triage incoming patients using clinical assessment and vital signs.
• Administer medications (SC/IM/IV) and manage IV fluids and transfusions.
• Assist in anesthesia setup and monitoring under LVT or DVM supervision.
• Collaborate with licensed veterinary technicians as part of the nursing care team.
• Contribute to rounds and patient handoffs for continuity of care.
