Job summary

VEG is seeking passionate veterinary assistants to join our emergency care teams across our hospital network. You will deliver nursing care, monitor patients, triage arrivals, administer meds, and assist with anesthesia under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be passionate about animal care and patient welfare.
• Excellent communication with teammates, clinicians and clients.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Responsibilities

• Treat each patient and customer with compassion and care.
• Provide nursing care, monitor patients, and assist with treatments.
• Perform triage and prioritize incoming patients.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Set up IV fluids and blood products as needed.
• Support outpatient and inpatient care as part of a team.
• Participate in rounds to ensure continuity of care.
• Be trained to perform CPR as RECOVER certified.
• Collect samples and run basic diagnostic tests.
• Assist with anesthesia under supervision.
• Set up oxygen therapy and related equipment.
• Collaborate with licensed veterinary technicians on patient care.
