Job summary

VEG ER for Pets in Falls Church, VA is seeking a Veterinary Nursing Shift Lead to own the rhythm and flow of each shift and ensure top‑tier patient care. You’ll coach on the floor, run huddles, coverage, and ensure every VEGgie has what they need to thrive.

You lead with heart, hustle, and a belief that empowered teams deliver great care. You’ll work nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast‑paced ER, with mentorship and growth opportunities, competitive compensation, and wellness benefits

Qualifications

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) or enrolled in VEG Credentialing Support Program preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician or assistant role; experience in emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Strong grasp of clinical workflow and team dynamics.
• Leadership instincts and ownership mindset with growth focus.

Responsibilities

• Keep pulse on patient status, team bandwidth, and shift-wide needs.
• Manage daily workflow and pivot when the unexpected hits.
• Ensure shift roles are assigned and adapted with clarity.
• Jump in on the floor when help is needed; no task is too small.
• Coordinate breaks, resolve conflicts, model calm under pressure.
• Lead shift transitions, team huddles, and wrap-ups.
