Job summary

VEG ER for Pets seeks a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency care team. You’ll handle cases from minor to complex, collaborating with doctors to deliver gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care during critical moments.

Expect triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and ICU nursing while supporting pet parents in stressful times. You’ll need a CVT/RVT/LVMT in the state, AVMA-accredited training, and 1+ year of ER or specialty

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in veterinary technology strongly preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the state of VEG practice is required; VTS a plus.
• 1+ year of experience as a veterinary technician, emergency or specialty medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient and person like they matter and stay by their side through tests and treatments.
• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support in critical moments from triage to discharge.
• Administer meds, monitor patients, manage IVs/CRIs and transfusions.
• Communicate as a teammate and help shape care plans for smooth workflow.
• Perform CPR when needed and utilize advanced techniques like central lines and imaging.
• Assist with diagnostics, sample collection, tubes placement, and anesthesia as required.
