Job summary

The Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Portland, OR is seeking a part-time Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team. You will work on triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, delivering gold-standard, compassionate care for pets and their families.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent; AVMA-accredited vet tech program preferred; 1+ year ER or specialty experience; strong communication; ability to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA-accredited program strongly preferred
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role, emergency or specialty medicine preferred
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient and person with care and keep them informed through tests and treatments
• Deliver nursing care, treatments, and emotional support in critical moments from triage to discharge
• Administer medications, monitor patients, and manage IVs/CRIs/blood transfusions as needed
• Assist with diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and anesthesia
• Lend a collaborative, leadership-minded approach to keep care flowing smoothly
• Perform CPR and support advanced techniques in a high-stress ER environment
