Job summary

VEG ER for Pets in Florida is seeking a Veterinary Nursing Shift Lead to coordinate on-shift workflow, ensure top-tier patient care, and mentor VEGgies on the floor. You will partner with hospital leadership to balance coverage, coaching, and seamless handoffs during busy shifts.

The role emphasizes owner-minded leadership, empathy, and strong communication, with opportunities to grow clinically and in leadership through VEG’s mentorship programs.

Qualifications

• CVT/RVT/LVMT credential preferred or VEG Credentialing Support Program enrollment.
• 1+ year experience as veterinary technician or assistant; emergency or specialty preferred.
• Strong grasp of clinical workflow and team dynamics.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg; work on the floor as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clear pulse on patient status, team bandwidth, and shift-wide needs.
• Manage daily workflow and pivot during emergencies.
• Assign and adapt shift roles with clarity and care.
• Step in on the floor when help is needed; no task is too small.
