VEG ER for Pets in Greenville, SC is hiring a part-time Emergency Veterinary Assistant. You’ll support the team from day one, help comfort pet parents, perform triage, assist with treatments, and learn the ropes in real time. This role offers growth toward credentialed technician paths and ongoing mentorship.

Join a fast-paced ER with opportunities to expand skills in anesthesia support, ultrasound, and advanced procedures through guided training. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; AVMA-accredited program a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role, especially in emergency or specialty settings, is a bonus.
• Strong communication with pet parents and team; comfortable in a fast-paced ER.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity are expected.

Responsibilities

• Triages incoming patients and guides them toward care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics including bloodwork and imaging.
• Set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation with credentialed staff.
• Manage IV fluids, blood products, and medication administration.
• Support care in outpatient and inpatient settings and participate in rounds.
• Learn CPR and pursue RECOVER certification through provided training.
• Explore advanced tasks via guided training pathways.
