Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Patient Transport Associate in Royal Oak Hospital to support the Emergency Center team by stocking equipment, obtaining vital signs, and transporting patients to testing and units. The role includes patient care tasks under RN supervision, ensuring safety and adherence to care plans.

Evening shift, part-time, with opportunities to provide companionship and observe safety protocols.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.
BLS certification from American Heart Association and ARC required.
Related patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist patient care activities: obtain/record vital signs, clean rooms, make beds, place cardiac monitors, and update patient location.
Provide rounds to assess patient/family needs and deliver courteous, professional customer service.
Stock and manage inventory of supplies/equipment in emergency areas; communicate needs to nursing leadership.
Transport patients to tests and to appropriate units; assist in resuscitations and CPR as needed.
Uphold infection control, safety, and patient rights; function as a patient sitter when required.
Communicate with RN and healthcare team; participate in unit meetings and activities.
