Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a dedicated Patient Transporter to move patients safely and efficiently across the hospital. You will coordinate with dispatch, document transport activity, and help maintain equipment and department records.

In this full-time role, you’ll complete an average of 18+ runs per 8-hour shift, uphold patient confidentiality, and collaborate with nursing and other healthcare staff to support quality care delivery. On-site at Dearborn Hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigation measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to tests and procedures safely and timely.
• Collaborates with nursing staff, ancillary departments, the patient, and other health care providers in delivering quality patient care.
• Completes departmental records and transport forms.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Demonstrates safe and appropriate use of equipment.
• Keeps the dispatchers informed of delays and changes in equipment.
• Interacts with other departments when sharing patient information.
• Maintains positive interactions with staff, patients, visitors.
