Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso seeks a highly skilled Registered Nurse for the Emergency FSED NE unit. The RN will coordinate and deliver patient-centered care, assess pain, document in the medical record, and respond promptly to patient requests.

The role includes teaching patients and families, translating medical terminology, and guiding self-management after discharge. The position requires ACLS/BLS/Stroke certifications within defined timeframes and RN education credentials.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale within 60 days of employment start date (RN)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course within 1 year of employment start date
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course, or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care.
• Assess patient pain and promote effective pain management with reassessments.
• Document care in the patient medical record in a timely manner.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Teach patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up.
• Translate complex medical terminology for patient understanding.
• Guide patients on non-medicinal follow-up measures and self-management.

Education

Registered Nurse Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma
