Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to join our Emergency Psychiatric Empath Unit in Generose. The role supports adults and children in acute mental health crises, with emphasis on safety, recovery, and compassionate care in a multidisciplinary team.

We offer competitive wages, comprehensive benefits, and training; 60-72 hours per pay period with 12-hour shifts on a rotating Sunday–Saturday schedule. Excellent teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a mental health or behavioral assistant.
• Experience with 24/7 residential programs or psychiatry & psychology-based programs preferred.
• Basic computer and keyboarding competence with Microsoft Office and electronic clinic documentation.

Responsibilities

• Join our Emergency Psychiatric Empath Unit to provide compassionate, immediate care for acute mental health crises.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, stabilize, and support patients in a safe environment.
• Lead social activities and milieu therapy to engage patients in treatment plans.
• Maintain documentation and ensure patient safety and timely escalation of concerning behaviors.
