Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Protective Services Dispatcher for Springfield Regional Medical Center. You will operate the protective services dispatch center, handle emergency and non-emergency calls, and coordinate with field units to ensure rapid response and safety.

The role requires handling multiple communications channels with a calm demeanor under pressure. Responsibilities include monitoring alarms, directing personnel, and maintaining meticulous logs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of security/dispatch experience preferred.
• Ability to type 35-40 wpm and document accurately under pressure.
• Experience operating multi-line phone systems and dispatch consoles.

Responsibilities

• Receive, coordinate, and disseminate critical information from emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Maintain radio contact with field units and monitor response progress.
• Relay information to protective service units and assist with locating persons or incidents.
• Determine nature and location of emergencies and dispatch appropriate personnel.
• Monitor alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and other security systems.
• Process photo badging and provide information to callers as needed.
• Answer and direct calls using a multi-line phone system with courteous communication.
