Job summary

The City of Cedar Park seeks a Generator Technician to inspect, test, and repair emergency electrical generator systems across city facilities. You will ensure transfer switches and standby generators are ready to support critical city services during normal operations and emergencies.

Two years of generator experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid Texas driver’s license are required. Work involves safety-focused field maintenance and collaboration with the Pump and Motor

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, or repairing emergency electrical generators or related equipment.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair emergency electrical generators and ATS.
  • Perform scheduled exercise runs and tests to verify readiness.
  • Perform preventive maintenance: tune-ups, oil changes, filters, battery checks.
  • Maintain accurate service histories and records.
  • Coordinate with foreman to maintain inventories of parts.
