Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC in Mattoon, Illinois seeks an Emergency Medicine Physician (board-certified or board-eligible) for a full-time role. The position features a three-10-hour shift rotation (6a–4p, 1p–11p, 4p–2a) with twelve or more shifts per month and a favorable workload designed to prevent burnout.

The role requires MD/DO credentials, Illinois licensure or eligibility, DEA registration, and strong teamwork for double-coverage in a high-functioning ED.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine.
• Active, unrestricted Illinois license or immediate eligibility.
• DEA registration is required.
• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care in a modern 32-bed ED.
• Maintain a low patient encounter pace, with fewer than two per hour.
• Collaborate with a second on-duty physician for double-coverage.
• Stabilize and coordinate transfers for high-acuity trauma and cardiac cases.
• Work a predictable rotation of 15 shifts per month across three 10-hour blocks.
• Coordinate patient care with on-site specialties, including psychiatry.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records for all encounters.
