Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in Edison, NJ is seeking an EMT to provide Basic Life Support (BLS) across emergency and non-emergency transports. You will work with police, fire, and hospital staff to assess patients, deliver pre-hospital care, document findings, and ensure safe vehicle operation.

Requirements include NJ EMT certification or NR-EMT with NJ reciprocity, BLS certification, a valid driver's license, and strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current NJ EMT certification, or NR-EMT, or NJ reciprocity with NR-EMT.
• AHA BLS Health Care Provider Certification.
• Valid Driver's License from USA.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office/Google Suite).
• Two years of BLS experience; 911 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds to calls in a timely manner.
• Assists and supports public safety personnel and other healthcare providers during patient care.
• Assesses patient and provides pre-hospital BLS treatment per condition and handoff as needed.
• Ensures patient comfort in all weather conditions during transport.
• Documents patient care reports and maintains compliance with policies.
• Operates EMS vehicles safely and maintains equipment and vehicle readiness.
