Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System is seeking a Dispatcher II to handle incoming emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate vehicles to ensure service and response times. You will relay patient information to hospitals and maintain transport logs.

You must have EMS/EMD and EMT-B credentials or progress toward them, with a high school diploma and valid license, in a role that blends customer service with critical communication. 40-hour weekly mid shift in CAS Dispatch.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a dispatcher, and one year in a customer service role.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) Certification or obtain within 6 months.
• Basic EMT (EMT-B) Certification or related experience.
• Ability to prioritize situations and make decisions on the information received.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks; receive and communicate information to/from several sources.
• Must read and understand English.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, record and dispatch incoming emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Enter statistical information in the CAS CAD system for reports.
• Provide unit with patient, location and destination details.
• Maintain dispatch logs and ensure coverage.
• Ensure timely dispatch and smooth shift transitions.
