Job summary

The Town of Flower Mound is seeking a Communications Officer to join the Police/EMS communications team. You will handle multi-line calls, source critical information, and issue pre-arrival instructions with calm professional demeanor.

Responsibilities include dispatching units via a multichannel radio system, managing TLETS/NCIC data, and maintaining strict confidentiality while adhering to policies. Lateral entrants with 5+ years receive a starting salary guidance and full benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to obtain EMD certification.
• Must have a valid state driver's license and clean driving record.
• Telecommunications and EMD certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a multi-line communications system and answer lines promptly.
• Collect vital information, provide pre-arrival instructions, and maintain calm under pressure.
• Monitor radio traffic, coordinate unit deployment, and ensure accurate call-for-service routing.
• Retrieve and interpret data from the TLETS system and document NCIC entries.
• Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays; on-call duty as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow department policies.
