Job summary

ThedaCare, Inc. seeks a Communications Dispatch Specialist to support staff and visitors by handling emergency and non-emergency calls, triaging to the right departments, and monitoring security systems. The role requires coordination with security, facilities, and medical teams to ensure rapid, accurate information flow and safety.

The position emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Orientation is full-time with a mix of day and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Three years of dispatching or call center experience
• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to manage multiple systems and prioritize tasks

Responsibilities

• Answer internal 444 emergency calls and notify appropriate staff
• Answer internal/external non-emergent calls and triage to the correct department
• Monitor alarms for security and building safety and escalate as needed
• Maintain and update records and reports and provide data to staff and leaders
• Operate Dispatch Center software and equipment
• Maintain radio contact with System Security, Facilities Management and Dispatch
• Monitor system cameras for safety of staff and visitors
• Initiate contact with on-call Surgery Teams and departments upon request
• Prepare and complete dispatch logs using reporting software
• Test alarms and equipment regularly
• Train new Communication Dispatch Specialists
• Provide internal customer service for staff and vendors
• Maintain regular attendance and work overtime as required
• Perform other related duties as assigned
