Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Northside is seeking an Emergency Dept Tech for PRN night shifts. The role supports clinical patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, delivering age-appropriate care as assigned by the team.

Qualified candidates may hold a Georgia EMT, NREMT/Intermediate, or be nursing students with clinical rotation experience; EMT license can be substituted by relevant PCT/ER tech experience. BLS is required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Must have EMT/medical certification as listed; multiple options acceptable.
• NREMT or Intermediate level certification acceptable.
• Nursing student with clinical rotations in acute care hospital acceptable.
• Experience as patient care tech/ER tech can substitute EMT license.

Responsibilities

• The ED Tech participates in clinical aspects of patient care under RN/LPN supervision, assisting with age-appropriate care.

Qualifications:

Education

• One of the following: Required
• Current Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification or previous Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification Required or
• A student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed at least 1 semester of clinical rotations within an acute care hospital Required or
• In Lieu of 2 years of patient care tech and/or Emergency Room Tech experience in lieu of EMT license Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Current BLS CPR Card Upon Hire Required
