Job summary

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC is hiring an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) for the night shift. The role supports physicians, nurses, and advanced practitioners in implementing care plans for emergency patients.

The position is full-time (36 hours/week) with nights 7pm-7am. Requires EMT-B certification (or military hospital corps) or active clinical student status; benefits include health plans, retirement, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• EMT-B certification or military hospital corps qualification at time of hire.
• Current student enrolled in a clinical program with at least one semester completed.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, advanced practitioners, or nurses in implementing care plans in the emergency department.
• Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• Assist with IV starts, EKGs, vital signs, patient transport, and stocking.

Hours/Shift: Full time (36 hours/week), nights, 7p-7a As an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) with Sentara, you will assist the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients. Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse. In this role, you are an integral part of the Emergency Department Team. Starting IV's EKG's Point of Care testing Blood Cultures Vital Signs Arrival prioritization Stocking Education HS Diploma Certification/Licensure/Experience EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.
